About the Dames

History

Founded in 2012

by a few New Orleans natives, the Crescent City Dames is a beaded corset club celebrating friendship, sisterhood, and the great city of New Orleans.

Theme

The Dames select a theme each year, around which members create elaborate and meticulously beaded corsets.  Past themes have included, Women of Power, Prime Time and Classic TV , The Holidays and "Cocktails".  Escorted by a classic New Orleans brass band, the Dames' Annual Sashay takes place the  Friday before Mardi Gras.  They strut their stuff from down Bourbon Street and wind through the historic French Quarter.  Among the Dames' coveted throws are their keepsake hand-decorated cups.  Other throws include signature logo beads, bracelets, and koozies.

When the Dames are not "sashaying on the wild side", they participate in philanthropic endeavors to support One Heart NOLA, an organization which provides resources to foster children and their families in the New Orleans area.
